Face-to-face Course - The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association Training - Didactic Portion
* 21 ceu/pda hours approved by Florida Board of Acupuncture and the NCCAOM
Presented by NADA Vice President and Registered NADA trainer, Rachel Toomim, A.P.
The Didactic Portion is an on-site Workshop on Acupuncture Treatment for Addiction and Behavioral Health. The hours of Didactic Training provided through this course will count toward the 70-hour NADA Certificate. This course is face-to-face. There is no option to receive the NADA Training online.
* Please note: In order to receive a NADA Certificate of Completion you must complete a 70-hour training, which includes the Didactic Portion as well as clinical experience at an approved NADA site. There are sites throughout the country and world-wide.
The NADA Trainer will assist you in finding a location to complete your clinical hours in order to receive your certificate. Due to variations in treatment funding, these sites, and/or their hours of operation are apt to change. NADA has no control over this situation. Funding is generally provided by government agencies.

* 1 year membership in NADA, 1 year subscription to the bimonthly Guidepoints newsletter, the newly revised NADA manual.

Over one thousand addiction programs in the United States now use Acupuncture. NADA has trained over 5000 clinicians in the U.S. and worldwide. The NADA protocol can be safely and accurately implemented into any treatment milieu. It is used at prominent treatment programs, Hazelden and at the Betty Ford Center.
On completion of this program, participants will understand the application of the NADA Protocol as applied to:
* detoxification
* withdrawal and craving
* relapse prevention
* recovery maintenance
* rehabilitation
* acute, chronic and post traumatic stress
* ADD/ADHD
* chronic mental illness
This didactic program provides twenty-one CEUs. Rachel Toomim assists you in setting up clinical hours in a variety of ways. Many who attend this program choose to follow up the didactic training with a clinical round at Lincoln Recovery, in New York City. Additional didactic hours may be acquired through attending local Twelve Step meetings on your own.
Rachel Toomim, A. P., is a Florida licensed Acupuncture Physician, who has practiced acupuncture over fifteen years. She currently serves on the board of directors for the AAAOM, and as the Vice President and Training Chair for NADA.
In addition to being a Registered NADA trainer, she has served as a Consultant to Drug Court Programs throughout the country. She is a recipient of the Chief Justice's Commendation from the Florida Supreme Court, as Director of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Drug Courts. In fourteen years of working with the criminal justice system, she has trained judges, prosecutors, public defenders, correctional officers and treatment professionals, expanding their understanding of addiction and recovery. She has educated medical professionals from a wide variety of health specializations in the use of the NADA protocol.
This course is offered by group arrangement of convenient time and place.
